Bettino holds a law degree from PUC-Rio, a postgraduate diploma in Public Law and Regulation from FGV-Rio, and a Master’s in Administrative Law from the University of Lisbon. Emellin de Oliveira is an expert in migration law and human rights, with a solid academic and practical background. She has a law degree from the Federal University of Ceará, a postgraduate degree in Human Rights (University of Coimbra), a Master's degree in International Migration (ISCTE-IUL) and is a PhD candidate in European Union Law (NOVA School of Law). At FiO Legal, she coordinates the Human Rights Litigation Department, promoting the protection of migrants' rights. She is also a researcher at CEDIS (NOVA School of Law), Guest Lecturer at the University of Coimbra and Executive Coordinator of the NOVA Asylum Policy Lab (NOVA FCSH). Emellin combines practical experience and academic research in favour of a more inclusive and equal world.

Laura is our newest lawyer, specializing in immigration and corporate law with a passion for Web3. A graduate of the University of Lisbon Law School, she has furthered her expertise with studies in Corporate Finance and cryptocurrency regulation in Portugal. Laura’s mix of traditional legal training and innovative insights makes her a key asset for clients in the Web3 space, always approaching challenges with a global perspective.

Bárbara, a lawyer specializing in Immigration and Nationality, has experience in Competition Law and Public Regulation. She developed team management and conflict resolution skills through internships and volunteering, including work with the European Solidarity Corps in Belgium. A Nova School of Law graduate, she holds postgraduate degrees in Migration Law, International Humanitarian Law, and Competition Law. Bárbara published an article in Competition Law and founded a social project on women’s health rights in 2023, organizing campaigns in countries like Cape Verde. Passionate about Human Rights, she enjoys traveling, reading, and sports. Bárbara is committed to delivering impactful solutions aligned with FiO Legal’s collaborative and client-focused approach.

Carolina Pimenta is currently preparing for her bar exam, with a strong academic background from NOVA School of Law, where she earned a Master’s degree in International and European Law. She has been expanding her expertise in employment law, corporate matters, and the cutting-edge world of Web3. When she’s not deepening her legal knowledge, Carolina is likely out surfing - her other great passion. With her dynamic approach and love for both law and the ocean, Carolina brings fresh energy and insight to our team.

Victoria Costa has recently completed the Portuguese Bar Association exam, after obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in Law from NOVA School of Law, in 2022. She is currently pursuing her Post-Graduate Degree in Immigration and Nationality Law, at the same institution. With an international background, which includes experiences in Tokyo, the USA, the UK, Brazil, France, and Spain, along with field practice in immigration and criminal law and a professional traineeship at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), Victória combines her multicultural knowledge and language skills, bringing a unique global perspective to our team. As she enjoys challenges, Victória has recently joined the Human Rights Litigation Department, increasingly working on the protection and promotion of migrant rights.

Otávio Raupp is a trainee lawyer at FiO Legal, having completed his law degree at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where he is currently studying for a Masters in Law Applied to Technology (Law & Tech). With a strong background in immigration, Otávio now supports our Litigation and Investment departments. He joined FiO as part of an innovative project, the Legal Skills Centre, where he discovered a new passion for technology, agile methodologies and process automation. Curious and dedicated, Otávio is committed to promoting innovation and efficiency in legal practice.

Francisco Arga e Lima is currently a trainee lawyer at FiO Legal and a PhD candidate in European Constitutional Law at NOVA School of Law, where he did his law degree. He is an expert in data protection law, with a focus on artificial intelligence. He also plays the role of external DPO for companies and startups from different sectors, supporting them in navigating the world of privacy. In addition to his professional duties, Francisco is an active researcher at the NOVA Consumer Lab and the Data Protection Observatory. When he's not in the office, Francisco enjoys lecturing and reading.
